Would you like to know where to find the best gyms in Paris? It’s January, and the time that keeping fit and healthy is on many people’s minds.

But what about attending gyms in Paris when you’re only there certain times of the year? Chances are you won’t want to pay for a year-long membership if you’re not going to use it.

Luckily, there is another way. Many gyms offer flexible terms for the occasional Parisian. So whether for a season, a week, or a day, here are our suggestions for keeping fit in Paris.

Choose chain gyms in Paris for value and flexibility

For the widest choice of locations, classes and top of the range equipment, the chain gyms are a good choice.

CMG Sports Club has 23 gyms scattered around Paris. They’re on both the Left and Right Banks in more than 10 arrondissements (districts).

All boast spacious and modern fitness facilities, with flexible terms for one-off visitors. You can pre-book online. Or simply turn up at the gym of your choice and begin your workout right away. Prices start from 28€ for a ‘MyPass,’ which gives access to two gym sessions. A one-off monthly pass to all 23 gyms in the city costs 90€.

Another popular chain, Health City, has five gyms in Paris They’re at St Germain des Prés, Champs Elysées, La Motte Picquet, La Fontaine and Ternes. Pre-booking is not required, and day passes start from 30€.

Boutique gyms, for a more stylish work out

If you want to enjoy something a little more exclusive, there are plenty of upmarket, independent gyms in the city.

The famous ones such as Ken Club and The Klay require an annual membership. But L’Usine Opera on the Right Bank in the 2nd arrondissement is an option. It offers real modern luxury set across three floors. With its stunning décor, it’s known for being the favorite gym of many Hollywood stars when working out in Paris. Best of all, a day pass is a surprisingly reasonable 50€.

In a spin

‘Spin’ classes, where you cycle on high-energy indoor bikes to pumping music, are all the rage. Paris has been slower than other cities to catch on to this high-speed trend. But if you’re looking for your fix, it is possible.

Let’s Ride offers energetic spin classes seven days a week, with no subscription. You simply pay for each class you attend. They have two studios on the Right Bank, in the 9th and 11th arrondissements. Both are Anglophone friendly. Booking is available online, with prices from 10€ per class.

Yoga, a more holistic approach

If you you’re looking for a gentler, more holistic approach to fitness, yoga is very popular in Paris.

Le Tigre Rive Gauche in the 6th arrondissement has a reputation as one of the city’s best. It offers more than 100 yoga classes each week. You can purchase a package of 10 sessions for 280€, to be used within 12 months.

The highly-respected Marais Yoga Center is located in the Haut Marais area of the 3rd arrondissement. Best of all, classes are offered in English as well as French. Each hour-long session is 20€.
