"Kerstin, Anne and and everyone at 56Paris Real Estate were the perfect team for helping us find and purchase our own apartment in a pitch-perfect Paris neighborhood in the Sorbonne Quartier of the 5th arrondissement. An excellent search and selection process quickly honed in on the right property that more than met our checklist of needs and wants. We wound up with much more quality in the property than I thought we would achieve."

"We now own the perfect apartment in Paris! Without the entire team at 56Paris, including their extensive network of legal, FX, architectural, banking and insurance professionals, the process of finding, closing and renovating an apartment in Paris would have been impossible. Their energy, professionalism, responsiveness and ability to communicate in multiple languages is top notch. I highly recommend utilizing their services for understanding the Paris market, purchasing a property, and assisting with ownership."

"We could not have done this without 56Paris!"

Ana maria and the entire team did a fantastic job. Thanks to them we have secured my wife’s dream apt in Paris. Very grateful! Their recommendations for other professionals such as property managers and mortgage brokers have also proved extremely helpful. They’ve made owning in Paris far easier than I expected.

My wife and I are eternally grateful for the 56Paris Real Estate team that made our dream of owning an apartment in Paris come true. They have an incredibly organized approach to helping clients learn about the process of buying an apartment in Paris, to finding an apartment, to finally closing the deal, and then support while you are living in the city. They have a wonderful set of partners in Paris who help make this process seemless, inclusive of a notaire, immigration attorney, Paris banker, mortgage broker, property manager, contractor for renovations, and connections to MoneyCorp for fund transfers. The whole process begins by working with Anne Pontabry who teaches you about the different neighborhoods and things to look for when working to identify the neighborhood you desire. Then you are handed off to an agent, in our case the beloved Ana-Marie, who works hard to find places that match your desires. She visits the places with you, always teaching you what to look for and evaluate. She then plays the key role of negotiating the price and getting the deal for her clients. Then you begin working with Gregory, the notaire, who assembles all the documents relevant to the property, and ultimately leads the process of getting the deed to the property. In all this process we were connected and still work with their recommended immigration attorney partner, banker (they make getting a French bank account painless!) and the lovely property manager who oversees our apartment and its renovations when we are not present. Hats off to Leo - the amazing contractor they work with - he does great work. Never in my life have I worked with such a well organized team, all of which possess great communication skills, and all which are lovely human beings. All work to advocate for you and make your transition to Paris as lovely as this city itself!

We wholeheartedly recommend 56Paris and, specifically, Anne Pontabry, with whom we worked directly. From the moment we reached out to 56Paris on the recommendation of a lifelong friend to the moment we received the keys to our Paris home, 56Paris provided unfailingly superior services and personalized client care. With little familiarity with the nuances of French real estate, we anticipated purchasing an apartment in Paris would be an incredibly arduous and complex process. Anne was an absolute lifesaver from start to finish. She not only helped us find the perfect property, but shepherded us through every daunting hurdle of the French buying process with grace, patience, and precision. It would be hard to craft a concise review that readers would actually read and still provide all the detail that we would like to provide, but in an effort to do so…. Anne has our deepest appreciation for these aspects: - Superb Guidance: Anne provided encyclopedic knowledge of Paris neighborhoods, architectural and urban history, and a keen eye for quality. - Exceptional Attention: We learned early on that she was going to listen to every idea we had and respond in detail, educating us along the way. - Problem Solving: No matter how complicated the paperwork or negotiations became, Anne stayed ten steps ahead, ensuring nothing fell through the cracks. Both organized and incredibly detail-oriented, Anne never lost sight of important subtleties or the bigger picture. - True Advocacy: We felt completely supported. She wasn't "closing a deal" - she was genuinely invested in our success and happiness. - Cross-cultural Skills: Anne provided the bridge between Parisian business practice and culture and our more limited experience, preventing possibly deal-breaking situations by helping us understand and navigate the real estate landscape. We would echo another client’s testimony that we “appreciated Anne’s clear, precise, and accurate interpretation of the pitfalls and liabilities of the transaction. Anne excelled at this – her knowledge of the ins & outs of Paris real estate transactions was extraordinary”. She also has amazing listening and people skills. - More-than-turnkey Client Services: From the very outset to the successful closing and beyond, Anne outlined not only the process for buying a Parisian property and provided crucial contacts for adjacent and necessary services: currency exchange broker, mortgage broker, notaire, immigration attorney, and property management. Anne turns what could be a stressful ordeal into a streamlined, successful experience. We cannot recommend her and the team at 56Paris highly enough.

A Rare Renovation Opportunity with Eiffel Tower Views in Paris

10 September 2026

In Paris real estate, a property in need of renovation is not necessarily difficult to find. A good renovation opportunity is another matter entirely. The difference lies in what cannot be changed. A top-floor position. An elevator. A sought-after address. Natural light. A workable floor plan. And, occasionally, an extraordinary view. Our latest property for sale on Avenue de la Bourdonnais in Paris's 7th arrondissement brings together all of these elements — including an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower that no renovation could ever create...

Paris Vacant Property Tax 2027: What Second-Home Owners Need to Know

04 September 2026

Paris has adopted a significant increase in the taxation of vacant residential properties from 2027, as part of Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire’s efforts to bring more housing back onto the market. The announcement has understandably caused some concern among property owners — particularly international owners who use their Paris apartment as a second home. But an important distinction has sometimes been lost in the headlines: the measure targets vacant homes, not second homes.

La Rentrée in Paris: When the Real Estate Year Really Begins

28 August 2026

Every country has its own rhythm. In France, one of the most distinctive is la rentrée. Literally, la rentrée means “the return.” It begins with la rentrée scolaire, when children go back to school in early September, but the expression has a much broader meaning in French life. It is when Paris returns from its summer holidays. Offices fill up again. Restaurants reopen. Meetings are scheduled. New projects begin. Diaries suddenly become crowded. After the slower pace of July and August, there is a palpable sense of renewed energy across the city. And, almost overnight, the countdown towards the end of the year begins. For us at 56Paris, la rentrée also marks something else: the beginning of a new Paris real estate cycle...
